Eliot's Poems 1909-1925, his first retrospective collection, captures several of his monumental contributions to poetry and the modernist movement The volume collects Prufrock (1917) and The Waste Land (1922) and publishes The Hollow Men for the first time. The famous dedication to The Waste Land ("For Ezra Pound, il miglior fabbro"), originally inscribed by Eliot in the presentation copy he gave Pound, is here printed for the first time.

Eliot was one of the most significant practitioners of modernism in diverse roles such as author, critic, and editor. Eliot himself wrote several poems which became cornerstones of the modernist movement, none more so than "The Waste Land," which is included in this volume. "The Waste Land" is a sweeping poem that explores what Eliot identified as cultural and personal decay.
