Franny and Zooey
Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1961. First edition. A Near Fine copy in like dust jacket. Publisher's gray cloth. An attractive example of the book with just a bit of fading to cloth at top edge of boards. Dust jacket sunned and a bit of wear at the extremities, but presenting very well overall.
Salinger's intriguing work on the Glass family, following Franny's emotional and spiritual collapse and her brother Zooey's attempt to bolster her spirit. Rife with subtext, the work has been open to several interpretations, but throughout, the author's talent and mastery are evident. Of his work, Salinger once wrote, "I love working on these Glass stories, I've been waiting for them most of my life, and I think I have fairly decent, monomaniacal plans to finish them with due care and all-available skill." Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. (Item #8076)
