An unbelievably lovely copy of this Pulitzer Prize winner

(Item #3843) Under the Volcano. Malcolm Lowry.

Under the Volcano

New York: Reynal & Hitchcock, 1947. First edition. Fine and unread in an about Fine dust jacket with trivial wear to the extremities. An almost impossibly fresh copy of this title, a book usually found well the worse for wear.

Lowry's masterwork and a Pulitzer Prize winning novel. Under the Volcano is an expressionistic narrative of the final, desperate day of a former British consul drinking himself to death in Mexico during the feasts of The Day of the Dead. The basis for the classic John Huston film featuring Albert Finney (who was nominated for an Oscar) and Jacqueline Bisset, it is unforgettable and tragic on page or screen.
Fine in About Fine dust jacket. (Item #3843)
