Terms

Ordering & Payment:

You may purchase any book on the website by adding that book to your “Cart” and checking out. Alternately, you may reserve a book by phone or email, and we will remove it from our inventory for a few days while you consider the purchase. However, all books are subject to prior sale.

Payment may be made in Cash or by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card, Check, Money Order or Paypal.

Guarantee

We work hard to accurately describe and catalog all the books for sale on our site, using the best reference materials in the industry. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within the first fifteen (15) days of your purchase at no loss to yourself, as we will pay for return shipping. No questions asked.

If at any time over the life of a book it is discovered that it was misrepresented as to its edition or printing, as to the authenticity of a signature, or is in anyway the result of a forgery, you may return that book at our expense. When purchasing from Whitmore Rare Books, we guarantee the authenticity of our inventory.

Grading

We use standard grading terms and conventions, “Fine” being the highest grade used for any book.

Security

Every transaction that you make with Whitmore Rare Books will be 100% secure. When checking out on the website, all of your personal information will be encrypted before it is transmitted over the Internet. This means that data cannot be read by third parties as it travels over the Internet to our system. Our secure server, certified by GeoTrust, provides the highest level of internet security available.

Shipping

All books are professionally packaged to ensure that no damage occurs in transit. Below are a variety of shipping options for your convenience.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING (within the United States)

  • USPS Priority Mail (2-4 days): $15 for the first book and $5 for each additional.
  • USPS Express Mail (1-2 days): $40 for the first book and $7.50 for each additional.
  • USPS Media Mail (formerly Book Rate) (5-10 days): $5 for the first book and $2.50 for each additional.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING (to any country outside the US)

  • USPS Int’l Air Mail to Canada (6-14 days): $20 for the first book and $5 for each additional.
  • USPS Int’l Air Mail to ALL OTHER COUNTRIES (6-14 days): $25 for the first book and $5 for each additional.
  • USPS Int’l Priority Mail to Canada (6-10 days): $25 for the first book and $5 for each additional.
  • USPS Int’l Priority Mail to ALL OTHER COUNTRIES (6-10 days): $35 for the first book and $10 for each additional.
  • USPS Express Mail to Canada (3-6 days): $40 for the first book and $5 for each additional.
  • USPS Express Mail to ALL OTHER COUNTRIES (3-6 days): $50 for the first book and $10 for each additional.
