Franny and Zooey

Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1961. First edition. A Near Fine copy in Very Good+ dust jacket. Some fading to cloth at top edge and some rubbing to dust jacket with a bit of crinkling and creasing to spine. Ink ownership signature, crossed out, to front flyleaf.

Salinger's intriguing work on the Glass family, following Franny's emotional and spiritual collapse and her brother Zooey's attempt to bolster her spirit. Rife with meaning and subtext, the work has been open to several interpretations, but throughout, the author's talent and mastery are evident. Of his work, Salinger once wrote, "I love working on these Glass stories, I've been waiting for them most of my life, and I think I have fairly decent, monomaniacal plans to finish them with due care and all-available skill."
Near Fine in Very Good + dust jacket. (Item #6824)
