Love is a dog from Hell (Signed first edition)

Santa Barbara: Black Sparrow Press, 1977. First edition. One of 750 trade edition copies, signed by Bukowski on the title page. A Near Fine copy in like publisher's acetate. Bound in tan boards with red corduroy backstrip and maintaining paper title to spine. Some wear to board extremities including a small bump to the top of the front board and a few minor spots of residue on boards, otherwise bright and clean. Acetate jacket with expected scuffing, and interior appearing unread.

This poetry anthology focuses on one of Bukowski's major themes: love—with all its shades of lust and loss. An exciting example of a Black Sparrow Press book with an enticing cover design. Run by John Martin the avant-garde press was responsible for supporting and publishing Bukowski's work throughout his prolific career.
