Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1961. First edition. A Fine copy in like jacket. Very trivial wear, but overall an excellent, Fine copy of the book and jacket.
Salinger's intriguing work on the Glass family, following Franny's emotional and spiritual collapse and her brother Zooey's attempt to bolster her spirit. Rife with meaning and subtext, the work has been open to several interpretations, but throughout, the author's talent and mastery are evident. Of his work, Salinger once wrote, "I love working on these Glass stories, I've been waiting for them most of my life, and I think I have fairly decent, monomaniacal plans to finish them with due care and all-available skill." Fine in Fine dust jacket. (Item #4553)
