ALL THE SAD YOUNG MEN (INSCRIBED, FIRST EDITION)

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1926. First edition. A wonderful association copy of Fitzgerald's third collection of short stories. A Very Good copy of the book with spine gilt dulled, minor fraying to spine ends and corners and binding a trifle shaken, but with hinges uncracked. Later issue with battered type on pgs. 38, 90 and 248. In a Very Good dust jacket with chips and toning to the spine and cracks running along several folds, reinforced with Japanese tissue. INSCRIBED: "For M. Azrael from M. F. Scott Fitzgerald | Autumn 1934." Written while the Fitzgeralds were living in Baltimore to Louis Azrael a newspaper columnist and close friend to the author (Azrael tried to help Fitzgerald control his drinking problem). This collection contains some of the author's finest short stories, including: "The Rich Boy," "Winter Dreams," and "Absolution." Quite scarce to find a personal association copy dated during one of the darker periods in the author's life. Additional images available upon request. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket.
