SATORI IN PARIS

London: Andre Deutsch, 1967. First UK edition. First printing. INSCRIBED by Kerouac to his third wife, Stella Sampas Kerouac, in a manner that leaves no doubt: "This is Stella's personal copy / Jack / her hubby." Near Fine in a Near Fine dust jacket, with a touch of rubbing to the extremities. Kerouac married Stella Sampas, the sister of lifelong friends and whose family informed much of the depiction of the Martin family in "The Town and the City," in 1966 and moved with her and his mother first back to Lowell, MA and then to a house in St. Petersburg, FL, where he died three years later. After the death of Kerouac's mother, Stella took control of his estate, and it remains, controversially, with her family to this day. Additional images available upon request. Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. (Item #340)
