Presentation copy, inscribed by the illustrator to his brother- and sister-in-law, with an original ink drawing on the half-title, "To William & May, with best wishes from Arthur & Edyth, Christmas. 09". William Joseph Myles Starkie (1860-1920), a Greek scholar and last Resident Commissioner of National Education for Ireland, was Edyth's older brother, and married May in 1893. Arthur Rackham married Edyth Starkie, a portrait painter and sculptor, in 1903. Very Good (Item #2346)
